Wordvex

Overview

Wordvex is a word-search game where you can play daily puzzles, discover random tile sets, and compete on leaderboards with other players. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for purposes other than running the game.

How We Use Your Data

Rewarded ads – Google AdMob is used to serve one optional rewarded video ad per game that grants an extra 30 seconds of play time. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier to serve relevant ads. You can limit ad tracking in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Challenge leaderboards – scores and display names are stored so all players who received the same challenge link can compare results.
Push notifications – your device token is used exclusively to deliver the "someone beat your challenge" notification. It is never used for marketing.
Anonymous fallback – if you do not sign in to Game Center, a random UUID is generated on-device and stored in the iOS Keychain. This ID has no connection to your identity outside the app.

Data Retention

Challenge results (scores, words, player IDs) are automatically deleted from our servers 7 days after submission. Device tokens are stored until you uninstall the app or request deletion.

Data Storage & Security

All backend data is stored in Microsoft Azure Cosmos DB (Canada Central region). All communication between the app and backend uses HTTPS. We do not store passwords or payment information.

Third-Party Services

Apple Game Center – provides player identity and display names. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Apple Push Notification service (APNs) – delivers push notifications. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Google AdMob – delivers the optional rewarded video ad. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You may opt out of personalised ads at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Microsoft Azure – backend hosting and database. Governed by Microsoft's Privacy Statement.

No data is shared with advertising networks, analytics providers, or data brokers.

Children's Privacy

Wordvex is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Your Rights & Choices

Push notifications – you can disable these at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → Wordvex
Game Center – you can sign out of Game Center; the app will fall back to an anonymous ID.
Data deletion – email us (see below) to request deletion of all data associated with your player ID.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
